It had been a long time since I travelled to the United States; the occasion to come back was attending Photonics West in San Francisco, described by its organisers as “the leading global conference and marketplace for lasers, biomedical optics, quantum, biophotonics technologies, and more”. It was big, especially the exhibition. I participated in the BiOS conference with an oral talk titled “Exploratory analysis of retinal microstructural changes after acute IOP elevation using OCT speckle”. Big shout out to Dr. Judith Birkenfeld, who encouraged me to attend the conference, and her postdoc Elena Radaelli, both from Instituto de Óptica at CSIC (Spain), who were great company while there and introduced me to researchers from all around the world.
