Conference EVER 2026 (Florence, Italy)

The European Association for Vision and Eye Research (EVER) organizes a research conference every year. I had only attended it before as a PhD student, so it was time to give it another go!
I presented an oral talk on our latest advances in scleral shape: “Rethinking scleral toricity: Does the scleral axis remain constant across the ocular surface?” In this work, we show how scleral shape can be decomposed into two clinically meaningful components, scleral Decentration and scleral Toricity, using Fourier analysis.

I also had the chance to spend these days in Florence with my old lab pal, Clara Llorens-Quintana, who is currently a researcher at Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain).

Florence is an open-air museum with great gelato and pasta, definitely worth a visit (but crowded with tourists, even though I visited in mid-October!).
